The class is over and so last night I left machine made objects and went back to nature. Boyd thought I should save the top of this pineapple when we cut it up a week ago. He thought it would make an excellent subject. He was right. It was a challenge, and it's done in the tiny WC Moleskine. I'm finding it difficult to keep things small, especially when working in that journal. I've been eyeing the shell for a couple of days, too. It's done on a piece of 5 x 7" hot press.
My brand new Daniel Smith watercolors arrived in the mail yesterday, much sooner than I anticipated! So, today I'll get a new palette set up and start trying out those colors. Next week I'm starting a new class and can't wait to get started. In the meantime I'll play!
