Etsy Store Updated

I've added many new paintings and prints to my Etsy shop. This painting image is available as a print reproduction on both 8.5 x 11 and 11 x 17 paper, as are many of the other images. If you see an image that's not listed in the size you want, or as a card or magnet, send me an email or Etsy convo with your request or question. I'll do my best to get you what you need.

New picture of an old painting

Shalom in Jerusalem Hamsa, 12 x 12 Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

Funny how the paintings run together after awhile and I forget what's been done before. I just came across a photo of this one that sold over a year ago and realized I hadn't made any prints to sell on Etsy or it or posted it on my website. I suppose I'll take a few minutes to do that soon, but in the meantime I thought I'd share it here.

Bless This House: A new painting

Just finished this tiny home blessing painting. It's 5x7 and will be listed in my Etsy store soon. Been a little while since I've painted, so getting this done was jumping a big hurdle. It's always hard for me to get started again once I've stopped for awhile. Now I need to remember this feeling. There's nothing better than listening to my five star play and sitting at my drawing table with a brush in my hand. Very relaxing and so productive at the same time. Don't be afraid... remember this... remember...

Holiday Cards

http://apronmemories.blogspot.com/2008/12/perfect-card.html

I had a lovely Etsy customer contact me a few weeks ago about a large card order for the holidays. She was so wonderful to work with. Yesterday she wrote blog post mentioning my card design. It was so nice of her to do that, and to get permission to show the card on her blog before publishing it.

Happy Holidays to all!

Making Pictures People Enjoy

When I tell people that I'm an artist/designer they think I sit around all day making pretty pictures. It's not rocket science or brain surgery. Although most think it's an easy job, they don't realize the challenges of creating something completely new and different everyday on a blank sheet of paper (or computer screen) that satisfies the needs of clients or patrons. And, my pictures probably won't be recorded in history books along side the works of Picasso or Chagall.

But, people do find meaning in what I do and often purchase a painting to hang on their wall or give as a gift. They are choosing to "live" with the piece of art I've created because it is pleasing to look at or strikes a spiritual chord in their heart. It never ceases to blow me away that people do that, especially in times like these when food and shelter compete for their income. I feel privileged to be able to leave on this planet a little something of me that will last after I'm gone.

I appreciate those who share their enjoyment of my work. Etsy has a treasury feature where a member can "curate" a collection of work they like. I was fortunate to be included in four treasuries at once last week. How exciting that people found my work among the thousands of other talented artists and chose to highlight it within the Etsy community. I extend my sincere gratitude to all of the "curators" in Etsy-land.
